So a few strange events within the last week – worthy enough to note though:

Iguana tail amputation surgery. Poor Lunchbox’s tail got infected with some disease and started killing off his tail, with the disease rapidly moving toward his body. It’s not uncommon for iguana tails, at least the tips, to die and fall off, but this was strange. Randy didn’t have a choice of waiting until Monday for the Vet, so we set up a little surgery unit in his kitchen, prepped and sterilized everything. Read the rest of this entry »

So to keep myself accountable for my half-marathon training,  i’m keeping my training log for the June race on here. See under “Pages.” Maybe some of you will keep me accountable too …

The feeing that I never thought would come has arrived.

It’s actually two month early. OK, six weeks early.

More like Recovering-From-Homebrewers-Meeting last night. Kind of like StrangeBrew in Port Townsend (pickle, cactus, chili pepper beers offered – very yummy), except last night was a bunch of dudes and their homebrews – most of which were pretty tasty. Chocolate raspberry port, some intense and not-so-intense IPAs, various Barleywines. But I think I was digging more the seven-layer taco dip and pasta salad for some reason. Tonight – off to Silvercity for some more local brew and friends. Then I SWEAR – no more drinking. At least until my weekend April 4-5 with Reba and Beth at Lake Quinault… bring on the Boones!

Also considering purchasing this bike in the near future: http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/09/cusa/model-9RWA5C.html

I’ve been riding a mountain bike with road slicks for 10 years now. As my intensity for biking has increased over the past few years, finally decided it’s time to get serious about getting a great road bike. Plus, I can’t let Reba continue to leave me in the dust with her Fuji! I’ll still use the mountain bike for trail riding on Wednesdays this summer, plus use it as a commuter bike.

For my 30th Birthday, I decided to celebrate some place warm and sunny and Hawaii seemed to be the answer! Next thing I knew, Randy and I were getting certified for SCUBA and planning our trip. Click on “The Big Island” link to the right to see the pictures and video!
